Rusty Deaton

Rusty started his insurance career in 1985 as the principal of a small rural property and casualty agency. The agency merged, acquired, and grew over the years until Rusty sold his interest in 2007.   Throughout this time, Rusty’s focus turned from personal lines insurance to multi-peril crop insurance and public
entity insurance.

Rusty obtained his CIC designation in 1997, was a National Faculty Member since 2004, and did insurance continuing education training until 2019.  Since 1991 he has also been involved in the financial industry, serving as a bank director for small bank.  In 2014, he and his father purchased the controlling
interest in that institution and expanded to three other locations.  In 2020, he sold his majority interest but still serves on the board of directors.

Rusty is now back in the crop insurance business, employed by Rain and Hail, LLC as a staff adjuster for the southwest division.
